BE1-48RC-N
DCS BE1-48RC-N Rotisserie Charcoal Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Charcoal ash dropping into the burner ports beneath
- Temperature gauge reading low from smoke film
- Hood lights failing once water gets into the sockets
- Rotisserie motor slowing down
The BE1-48RC-N is a 48-inch Series 9 grill with both a rotisserie and a charcoal insert, on natural gas, at 25,000 BTU per hour per burner and 300°F to 1100°F. A second cooking surface, hood lighting, and lit dials round it out. It is a current model, and BE1-48RC-L is the LP version.
Charcoal use brings its own wear. Ash can fall into the burner ports below and weaken the flame, and smoke leaves a film that makes the temperature gauge read low. Water that reaches the hood light sockets can kill the bulbs, so we look at the sockets and seals, not only the bulbs.
We take the burners one at a time and compare each flame on the wide surface. A written price comes before work, and our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty. Gas supply work goes to a licensed plumber, and an outdoor GFCI or circuit problem goes to an electrician. The model and serial from the label are confirmed first.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my temperature gauge read low?
Smoke film on the gauge and a worn sensor can make it read low. We clean it, compare it with the burner behavior, and replace the gauge if it is stuck.
Why do the hood lights keep failing?
Water in the bulb sockets is a common cause outdoors. We dry and inspect the sockets and seals, and we replace any parts that have corroded.
How does ash hurt a gas burner?
Ash falling through into the burner area can cover ports and give a weak or uneven flame. We clear the ports and check the burners after cleaning.
