Why do I get a spark but no flame?
The usual causes are no gas reaching the burner, ports packed with residue, or water in the well. We check the supply first, then clean the ports, then look at the valve.
Can a loose knob be tightened?
Sometimes. If the stem has worn, tightening will not last, so we replace the knob or the stem as needed. A knob that slips can also mislead you about whether the valve is closed.
Why does water sit in the burner well?
Rain and wash-down water collect when the well cannot drain or the lid is left open. We clear the drain path and suggest keeping the lid closed when the burner is not in use.
