BGB48-BQR
DCS BGB48-BQR Rotisserie Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Rotisserie motor overheating on oversized loads
- Hood hinge pins worn
- Valve leaking by at the off position
- Rod and forks scratched or bent
The BGB48-BQR is a 48-inch BGB grill with a rotisserie burner, a heavy-duty motor rated for up to 50 pounds, and a stainless rod and forks. It is an older model, and the rotisserie is usually the reason someone bought it.
That rotisserie is where we start when the grill is used for large roasts. A motor that overheats is working near its limit or struggling with an unbalanced load, and we check both the load advice and the motor itself. Worn hinge pins let the hood sag, and a valve that leaks by at off is a safety matter: if you smell gas with every knob off, close the supply and call us.
Because the BGB grills are older, we check for parts before making any promises. A written price comes first, and a licensed plumber handles the gas line to the island if it needs attention.

Error codes this model can show
My rotisserie motor gets hot. Is that a problem?
Warmth is normal, but a motor that overheats may be carrying too much weight or an unbalanced roast. We check the load first, then test the motor and its connections.
Why do I smell gas with all knobs off?
Close the supply valve, ventilate the area, and call us. A valve may be leaking by in the off position. We test each valve and replace any that does not seal.
What does a worn hood hinge cause?
The hood may sag, close crookedly, or slam shut. We replace worn pins and check that the hood stays open when lifted and closes squarely when lowered.
