BGC48-BQR
DCS BGC48-BQR 48-Inch Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Valve knobs stiff or slipping
- Grease tray rails bent
- Spark module not sparking
- Burners lighting out of order
The BGC48-BQR is a 48-inch professional grill with a rotisserie from the BGC generation. It shares one guide with the BGC36-BQAR and BGC48-BQAR, which is why we check the number on the label before we talk about parts.
Many service calls on this grill start at the knobs. A stiff knob usually means a valve that has dried or gummed up, and a slipping knob means the stem has worn, which is worth fixing because you cannot tell by feel whether the gas is off. Bent grease tray rails let the tray catch and spill. If no burner sparks, we test the spark module and its supply before anything else.
Older BGC parts can be scarce, so we look before we promise a repair and say so when the cost does not make sense. A price in writing comes first, and our repair work is covered by a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Error codes this model can show
Why are my knobs stiff to turn?
The valves behind them may be dried or gummed up. We free what we can and replace a valve that will not turn smoothly, because a stiff valve can hide a poor shutoff.
What does a spark module do?
It generates the spark that lights the burners. If nothing sparks anywhere, we test the module and the power it receives, and an outdoor circuit problem goes to an electrician.
Why does my grease tray stick?
Bent rails can catch the tray as it slides. We straighten or replace the rails so the tray moves freely and holds grease where it belongs.
