BH1-48RI-N

DCS BH1-48RI-N Infrared Grill Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Infrared emitter condition after water or heavy cleaning
  2. Ignition electrode position and spark at each burner
  3. Drip tray and grease channel buildup
  4. Rotisserie motor and bracket seating

The BH1-48RI-N is a 48-inch Series 7 gas grill that burns natural gas, with a rotisserie and an infrared sear burner rated up to 24,000 BTU/hr beside the U-burners. The same grill is also sold for LP gas as the BH1-48RI-L, so the last letter of the number matters when we order parts.

The sear burner is the part owners ask about most. An infrared emitter can crack when cold water or a wet cover touches it hot, and an electrode knocked out of line during cleaning leaves a burner that clicks but does not light. We check the emitter, the electrode gap, the grease channels under the burners and the drip tray before anything else.

Whether the grill is built into an outdoor kitchen island or rolls on a cart changes how we reach the burners, and we ask which you have when you call. Before ordering a part we read the model and serial from the label. Any gas line work beyond the grill itself goes to a licensed plumber.

BH1-48RI-NBH1-48RI-N questions
Why does my infrared sear burner stay dark when the other burners light?

The sear burner has its own emitter and ignition electrode. A cracked emitter or an electrode pushed out of position after cleaning is common on infrared burners, so we test the spark and inspect the emitter before replacing any part.

Is the natural gas grill the same as the LP version?

The BH1-48RI-N is set up for natural gas and the BH1-48RI-L for LP. The orifices and regulator differ, so we confirm the fuel from the label before ordering parts or adjusting flames.

Can you repair a grill that is built into an island?

Yes. We work on built-in grills as well as cart-mounted ones. If the problem is in the gas supply line to the island, a licensed plumber handles that work and we handle the grill.
