The GDE1-30-N is a 30-inch Series 9 griddle for natural gas. It can be built into an outdoor kitchen or mounted on a CAD1-30E cart, and its illuminated dials match the rest of the Series 9 suite. The LP version is sold as the GDE1-30-L.
A griddle is not a grill, and the service checks differ. We look at whether every zone heats, because a zone that stays cold can mean a burner, ignitor or valve problem under the plate. A plate that has warped, usually after cold water hits a hot surface, makes oil run to one side and cook unevenly. Grease cups that overflow also cause trouble below the plate.
If the dial lights are out on one knob, that is a separate check from the heat. The rating label gives us the model and serial before we order any part. Gas line work behind the module goes to a licensed plumber, and we handle everything on the griddle itself.

Why does one zone of my griddle not get hot?
Each zone has its own burner and ignition path. We check the spark, the burner flame and the valve, because a blocked burner port or failed ignitor leaves that zone cold while the others heat.
Can a warped griddle plate be fixed?
Sometimes a light warp can be judged on the spot, but a plate that has bent from cold water on hot steel often needs replacing. We check flatness and tell you before ordering.
Does this griddle need a plumber?
Only if the problem is in the gas line leading to the module. A licensed plumber handles that supply work. Burners, ignition and controls on the griddle are our job.
