Most common issues on this model
- Lower oven control error
- Door lock motor on the self-clean cycle
- Broil element
- Upper and lower oven temperature
The WO-227SS stacks two 27-inch electric ovens in one cabinet and draws from a 240 V, 50 A supply. It is a discontinued DCS wall oven in stainless, with color versions such as the WO-227BK and WO-227WT. Owners who have one tend to keep it, because two ovens in a 27-inch opening are hard to replace.
A double oven fails in two places, so we test each oven on its own. When only the lower oven shows an error, we look at its sensor, wiring and board, and we do not assume the upper oven is the same. A door lock motor that has failed after self-clean traps the door shut, and a broil element that has burned open leaves the oven baking but not browning.
A discontinued double oven can be hard to supply, so we find the parts first and quote second. If a repair does not pay, we will say so. The label gives us the model before we order. The 50 A circuit and any breaker or wiring problem belong to an electrician.

Error codes this model can show
Only my lower oven shows an error. What do you check?
We test the lower oven sensor, its wiring and the control section for that cavity. The upper oven can work normally while the lower one is out.
Can one oven in a double be repaired without the other?
Yes. Each oven has its own element, sensor and lock. We repair the failed cavity and test the other to make sure it is sound.
What if the broil element is out?
A broil element that has burned open leaves the oven baking without browning. We test it with a meter and replace it if the part can be found.
