WO-230SS
DCS WO-230SS Double Wall Oven Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Lower oven reserved error
- Communication between the two oven controls
- Upper oven over-temperature
- Door lock and hinge condition
The WO-230SS is a 30-inch double electric wall oven, discontinued, hard-wired to a 240 V, 50 A supply. Color versions use numbers such as WO-230BK and WO-230WT. It remains in many Houston homes, and we repair it.
The two ovens have separate codes, and one error is reserved for the lower oven. That matters when we diagnose, because an error that names the lower cavity sends us to a different part of the control than the same error on the upper one. A communication error between the two controls can also leave one oven dark. An upper oven that overheats needs its sensor and relay tested before the oven is used again.
Because the oven is hard-wired, the connection and breaker are an electrician’s work. Some parts for this discontinued oven are no longer easy to get, so we check supply before quoting and give you an honest opinion if the oven is past saving. The exact version comes from the label.

Error codes this model can show
My lower oven shows a special error. Does that mean the board?
Not always. We read the code and test the lower sensor and wiring first, and a board is replaced only if those test good and the control still misbehaves.
Why do my two ovens act as if they cannot talk to each other?
The two controls pass information through a connection. A loose plug or a failing board can break it. We check the connectors and wiring before replacing any control.
The upper oven gets too hot. Is it safe to use?
Stop using it until we test it. A failing sensor or relay can let the temperature run high. We check both and tell you what the repair involves before we begin.
