The WDS-30 is a 30-inch indoor professional warming drawer from DCS, and a discontinued older model. It shares its use and care guidance with the 27-inch WDS-27, so the two behave alike. It is usually built in beneath a wall oven or beside a range.
If the drawer will not warm, an open circuit in the element is a common reason, and we test for it directly. What does an open circuit in the element mean?
The element has a break, so no current flows and it cannot heat. We confirm it with a meter and replace the element if a part is available.
My drawer stays hot too long. Is the thermostat bad?
A thermostat that sticks on can do that. We test its operation and the element before recommending a replacement. That is a different problem from a drawer that never heats.
