Most common issues on this model
- Blower noise or vibration
- Grease reaching the drip trays
- Lamps that stay dark
- Switch and wiring condition
The VS30 is a discontinued 30-inch professional wall vent hood. It has a four-speed blower and washable metal grease filters with drip trays, and a 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz branch circuit feeds it. It suits a 30-inch range and was built to look like the cooking equipment beneath it.
We handle three kinds of calls on this hood. A loud or vibrating blower means a loose wheel or mount. Grease dripping from the filters tells us the filters or drip trays are saturated, and we clean or replace them. Lights that do not work are usually a bulb, a socket or the switch, and we test in that order. A dead hood on a working circuit sends us to the switch and motor.
The circuit is a standard household one, so a tripped breaker is easy to check, and wiring problems belong to an electrician. The model and serial on the label tell us what to order, and we say so honestly if a repair is not worth doing.
Key features
- Professional wall hood, 30 inches wide
- Blower with LO, MED, HI and MAX speeds
- Metal grease filters you can wash and reuse, plus drip trays
- Fed by a 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz branch circuit
Why is my hood blower so loud?
A loose blower wheel, a motor bearing that has worn, or a mount that has come loose. We tighten and inspect each one, then tell you whether a part is needed and what it costs before we begin.
Grease drips from my filters. Is that normal?
No. It means the filters and drip trays are full of grease. We clean or replace them and then check that the hood is pulling air properly on every speed.
What circuit does the VS30 use?
A 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz branch circuit. If the hood is dead, we check the breaker and the hood switch first. Wiring problems go to an electrician.
