What U1 means
On DCS DishDrawer double drawers from the 7 series, such as the DD24DUT7 and DD24DVT7, U1 on the display means the dishwasher is not getting water. It is a message about the supply side, so the drawer cannot fill and the cycle does not go on. These are older models, still in many Houston homes. A dishwasher that beeps continuously is also telling you it has found a problem, so a steady beep together with U1 points to the same missing water.
Common causes of U1
- Supply valve under the sink closed or only partly open
- Water not connected to the drawer's inlet
- Kinked or blocked supply line
- Hot water supply that is off or low in pressure
- Inlet connection or fill path that needs testing
1. Check that the water is connected and turned on at the shutoff valve. 2. Look at the supply line for a kink or a pinch where the drawer slides in the cabinet. 3. Run the kitchen faucet to confirm water reaches the sink. 4. Start the drawer again and see whether U1 returns. 5. If a valve or line under the sink drips or needs replacing, call a plumber.
- If the supply is on and U1 stays, the cause may be at the inlet or in the fill path, which we test.
- A shutoff valve or supply line that is stuck or leaking is plumbing work, and we separate that from the dishwasher.
- On an older drawer we confirm parts first, and we tell you plainly if a repair is not worth it.
What does U1 mean on a DCS dishwasher drawer?
U1 means no water supply. The drawer cannot fill, so it will not run a cycle. Start by checking that the water is connected and turned on, then see whether the code comes back.
Why is my dishwasher beeping nonstop?
A continuous beep tells you the dishwasher has found a problem. Read the display for a code like U1, and tell us what it shows if you call or use the online form to schedule service.
Should I call a plumber or you?
A plumber is the better call for a stuck valve or a leaking supply line. If the water reaches the drawer and U1 stays, we test the inlet and the fill, with the price written down first.
Still seeing U1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
