The BE1-36C-N is a 36-inch Series 9 grill with a full charcoal burner option, on natural gas. Each burner is rated at 25,000 BTU per hour and the control reaches from 300°F up to 1100°F. It is a current model, built in or placed on a CAD1 cart, with an LP version sold as BE1-36C-L.
Two things bring owners to us with this grill. One is lighting: in-hood halogen bulbs burn out, and the lit dials sometimes fail on their own. The other is heat, where a grill that will not reach full temperature on a windy day may need its burners and gas pressure checked. Why will my grill not reach full temperature?
Wind, a low tank or gas pressure, and dirty burner ports can all cut the heat. We check the burners and the supply pressure and tell you which one is the cause.
My ignition died after rain. What should I check?
Check the outdoor GFCI first. If it keeps tripping, an electrician should look at the circuit. If power is fine, we test the grill's ignition and supply connections.
How does charcoal use affect service?
Ash and grease from charcoal can settle near burners and ports. We clean those areas and check that the burners light cleanly and burn evenly before closing the job.
