BFGC-30BGD-N

DCS BFGC-30BGD-N Griddle Module Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Griddle plate rusting after storage uncovered
  2. Side burner grate not sitting level
  3. Cart-mounted LP hose kinked
  4. Griddle heating unevenly side to side

The BFGC-30BGD-N is a Liberty Collection module that pairs a dual side burner with a large griddle, in a 30-inch width on natural gas. The cart is sold separately, and an LP version carries an -L at the end of the number. Owners usually buy it for weekend breakfasts outdoors.

A griddle rusts the moment it sits damp, so we start with the plate and its seasoning, then the burner below it. If the plate heats unevenly from side to side, we check the flame along the burner and the gap to the plate. On the side burner, a grate that will not sit level is often a bent support or a cap out of place.

If the unit sits on a cart with an LP tank, we check the hose for kinks as well. The price is put in writing before work starts, and the repair is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty. Pipe work and fuel conversion belong to a licensed plumber; the number on the label tells us which parts to order.

BFGC-30BGD-NBFGC-30BGD-N questions
Can a rusted griddle be saved?

Light surface rust often cleans up and can be seasoned again, but deep pitting is a different story. We look at the plate, tell you what is realistic, and quote a replacement plate if one is needed.

Why does one side of my griddle cook cooler?

Most often the flame under the plate is the cause: dirty ports, a partly blocked burner, or a plate that is not seated flat. We watch the flame along its length and clean before replacing anything.

What does the -N on the end of the number mean?

It marks the natural gas version, while the LP version ends in -L. Burner parts differ between them, so we check the label before ordering, and a change of fuel goes to a licensed plumber.
