BFGC-30G

DCS BFGC-30G Gas Grill Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Ignition electrode gap off after a cleaning
  2. LP regulator icing up during long cooks
  3. Drip tray rusting through
  4. Burner flame lifting at the highest setting

The BFGC-30G is the second Liberty Collection generation of the 30-inch grill, sold in natural gas and LP versions as the BFGC30GN and BFGC30GL. It is an older grill that Houston owners often keep because the cooking surface still performs well long after the finish has aged.

A cleaning is often the reason for a service call on this grill: an ignition electrode knocked out of position will no longer spark across the right gap, and the burner stays dark. We reset the gap and check the wiring. On LP versions, a regulator that frosts up during a long cook points to flow or tank problems that we trace before replacing parts.

Some owners ask whether an older grill is worth saving, and we answer honestly: you get a written price first, and if the repair does not make sense, we tell you. We read the model and serial off the data label before any part is ordered.

BFGC-30GBFGC-30G questions
My burner will not spark after cleaning. Why?

The ignition electrode may have been nudged out of position, or the burner and electrode may still be wet. Let everything dry, and if there is no spark, we reset the electrode gap and test the wiring.

Why does my LP regulator frost up?

Heavy gas draw on a long cook can chill a regulator. A failing regulator or a low tank can do the same. We check the flow and replace the regulator if it does not hold steady.

Which do I have, BFGC30GN or BFGC30GL?

The N version uses natural gas and the L version uses LP. The label shows which one yours is, and we check it before ordering parts. Changing between fuels goes to a licensed plumber.
