BGA48-BQR
DCS BGA48-BQR 48-Inch Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- One or two burners weak across the wide firebox
- Ignition working only in dry weather
- Hood thermometer broken
- Rotisserie motor slow
The BGA48-BQR is a 48-inch professional grill with a rotisserie from the BGA generation, sold on natural gas as the BGA48-BQRN or on LP as the BGA48-BQRL. The BGA48-BQAR appears in the same guide, so the full number on your label separates the two.
A 48-inch firebox gives uneven heat room to hide. When one or two burners are weak, we light each and compare, because the cause is usually dirty ports, a tube with rust, or a valve not opening fully. Ignition that works only in dry weather points us to the electrodes and wiring, where moisture gets in. A broken hood thermometer is a quick replacement but worth fixing, since you cook by it.
The BGA series is older, so before starting we look at part availability and tell you plainly if a repair is not worth it. Your written price comes before the work. Gas supply work goes to a licensed plumber, and an outdoor outlet problem to an electrician.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my ignition work only on dry days?
Moisture in the electrodes or wiring can stop the spark in wet weather. We dry and inspect them and replace any worn wiring or electrodes that we find.
How do you find a weak burner on a 48-inch grill?
We light each burner in turn and compare flame height and color. The weak one points us to its ports, its tube, or its valve, and we work from there.
How is the BQR different from the BQAR?
They are separate numbers in the same guide, and some parts can differ between them. We read the label before ordering anything so the right parts arrive the first time.
