BGC131-BI
DCS BGC131-BI Double Burner Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Only one of the two burners lights
- Burner cap sitting crooked
- Flame yellow on one side
- Spark continuing after lighting
The BGC131-BI is a built-in double side burner for a 15-inch opening, from the DCS Series 7 line. Its number is also found as the BGC131-BI-N and BGC131-BI-L, with the final letter showing the fuel. Two burners in one opening mean that most calls are about one burner behaving differently from the other.
That difference is useful to us. When only one of the two lights, the shared parts are fine and the problem is local to the burner that failed: its cap, its ports, or its ignitor. If both are weak, we look at the common gas supply instead. A yellow flame on one side points to ports that are dirty or a cap that is off-center.
We give you a written price before work. Gas lines and fuel changes are for a licensed plumber, and an outdoor circuit problem goes to an electrician. We confirm the full number on the label before ordering a part.

Error codes this model can show
Why does only one of my two burners light?
The problem is local to the burner that fails: its cap, ports, or ignitor. The shared gas supply is fine if the other burner works. We clean and test that burner first.
Is a yellow flame a problem?
Yellow means gas and air are not mixing well, often from dirty ports or an off-center cap. We clean and reseat the burner, then check the flame again.
What are the -N and -L versions?
They are other versions of this burner for different fuels. The label shows which you have, and parts differ between them, so we confirm before ordering.
