BGC132-BI-N
DCS BGC132-BI-N Double Burner Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Rain pooling in the burner well
- Corroded burner caps
- Spark clicking but no flame
- One burner weaker than its partner
The BGC132-BI-N is a 14-inch built-in double side burner in the Series 7 line, on natural gas. It has a heavy stainless body and burners rated at 17,000 BTU, and its installation guide also covers the Series 9 SBE1-142. An LP version is sold as the BGC132-BI-L.
Water is what we look for first on any outdoor burner. Rain that pools in the well drowns the flame and corrodes caps over time, so we check how the well drains and how well the lid seals. If you hear the spark but see no flame, the burner needs its ports cleaned and its gas supply checked, then the ignitor.
We say plainly what we find and quote the repair in writing. Pipe work for the island is a licensed plumber’s job, and the label’s number goes on any order.

Why does water collect in my burner well?
The well may not drain properly, or the lid may not seal against rain. We clear the drain path and check the lid, then dry the burners and test them.
I hear the spark but see no flame. What now?
First check that the gas supply is open. If it is, the ports may be clogged or the ignitor wet. We clean the burner, dry it, and test the spark and the gas flow.
How do the -N and -L versions of this burner differ?
The N version is built for natural gas and the L version for LP. They use different orifices, so we read the data label before ordering any parts for your burner.
