BH1-36-N
DCS BH1-36-N Smoker Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Grate edges rusting
- Ignition working on some burners but not others
- Drip tray sticking on its rails
- Smoker tray warped
The BH1-36-N is a 36-inch Series 7 grill on natural gas, without a rotisserie. It has double-sided cast stainless grates, a grease channeling design, and a dedicated smoker tray, and an LP version is sold as the BH1-36-L.
With no rotisserie to service, our attention goes to the grates, the burners, and the tray system. Rust at the grate edges shows up first in humid air, and we check whether the burners below are also corroding. If the ignition works on some burners and not others, we look at the electrodes and wiring individually rather than blame the module. A smoker tray warps when it sits too close to direct flame, and a drip tray sticks when its rails bend.
Our quote is written and given before work. Fuel conversions and gas line changes belong to a licensed plumber. Before we order we read the number on the data label.

Error codes this model can show
Why do only some burners spark?
Each burner has its own electrode, so a burner that does not spark often has a dirty or misplaced one. We test them one at a time and clean or replace as needed.
Why did my smoker tray warp?
Direct flame and high heat can bend the tray over time. We check how it sits over the burner and replace it if it no longer lies flat.
Is rust on the grate edges a concern?
Surface rust is cosmetic, but deep rust weakens the grate. We clean what we can and replace any grate that has lost its strength, after confirming the part.
