BH1-36R-N
DCS BH1-36R-N Rotisserie Grill Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Rotisserie motor will not start
- Hood lights dark when a fuse in the supply opens
- Orange burner flame where insects have nested in a tube
- Motor sluggish under load
The BH1-36R-N is a natural gas Series 7 grill, 36 inches wide, with a rotisserie and double-sided cast stainless grates. It fits an island or a DCS cart. Its LP version is sold as the BH1-36R-L.
A rotisserie grill adds a motor and a light circuit to the usual burners, and each can fail on its own. If the motor will not switch on, we test the switch and the power supply before the motor. When the hood lights go dark, a fuse in the supply is a common cause, and we look for what made it open. A burner that burns orange has often been invaded by insects that nest in the tube, which cuts off the air.
You receive a written price first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows our repair. Gas lines and fuel conversion go to a licensed plumber, while an outdoor circuit that keeps tripping goes to an electrician.

Error codes this model can show
Why does my burner flame turn orange?
An orange flame means the burner is not getting enough air, and insects nesting in the tube are a common reason. We clear the tube and check the flame afterward.
Why did my hood lights go out?
A blown fuse in the supply is a common cause, along with burned-out bulbs or loose connections. We find out why the fuse opened before we replace it.
Can I move this grill between a cart and an island?
It is made for either setup, but a move involves the gas connection, which a licensed plumber should handle. We can check the burners and ignition after the move.
