CDV2-365H
DCS CDV2-365H Professional Cooktop Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Burner cap warped or discolored from heat
- Gas smell near the knobs
- Flame different between neighboring burners
- Ignitor sparking at the wrong burner
This is the 36-inch, five-burner gas cooktop from the DCS Professional cooktop line that carries the Series 9 designation. Next to the plain CDV2-365 it looks the same in a countertop, so the H on the label is how we tell the two apart before ordering anything.
The first thing we do on a call like this is sort the burners by behavior. Burners that light and burn evenly are left alone; the one that sparks late, burns orange, or smells of gas gets our attention. A gas smell near the knobs means you should close the supply valve and open a window; we then test the valve and fittings at the cooktop with the gas off.
Gas lines in the cabinet or wall, and any conversion work, belong to a licensed plumber. The burners, ignitors, valves, and knobs are ours. You approve a written price first, and we mention up front if an older part is hard to find.

Why does my cooktop smell of gas when it is off?
Close the supply valve, open windows, and do not use switches or flames. Then call us. We test the valve and cooktop fittings, and if the leak is in the line behind the unit, a licensed plumber handles it.
How do I know I have the H version?
Look at the data label for the full number. CDV2-365H carries the Series 9 designation, and CDV2-365 does not. We read the label before ordering parts so the right burner pieces arrive.
Why do two burners next to each other burn differently?
Different flames on the same type of burner usually trace to clogged ports, a misaligned cap, or a worn orifice on one of them. We clean and compare them side by side before replacing anything.
