The CDV3-365 is a newer 36-inch gas cooktop with five burners in the DCS Professional cooktop line. It is built for high-volume cooking, and with all five burners going, heat and ventilation both matter.
A call on this cooktop often starts with uneven heat. We light every burner and compare the flames, since a ragged or lifting flame on one burner points to its ports or orifice, while all five weak points to the gas supply. A hood that does not keep up can make a cooktop seem to misbehave, so we also note whether the hood overhead is clearing the fumes.

Why do some burners burn hotter than others?

My flame lifts off the burner on high. Is that normal?
