WDT-30
DCS WDT-30 Built-In Warmer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Heat distribution front to back
- Control knob stem
- Drawer glides binding
- Heating element
- Thermostat
The WDT-30 is a 30-inch indoor professional warming drawer, another discontinued DCS model. It shares its use and care and installation guidance with the WDTI. Owners usually have it installed under a wall oven or next to a cooktop, where it keeps dishes warm until the meal is ready.
A drawer that heats unevenly from front to back has us looking at the element and the thermostat, and at how the drawer sits and closes. A control knob with a stripped stem is a small problem that can make the drawer seem broken, and we check that the knob grips and turns the control correctly. Glides that bind keep the drawer from sliding smoothly, so we inspect the rollers and the track.
This is an older model, so we check part availability before work and give you a written price. If a repair does not make sense, we tell you so. Our work is warranted for 30 days. The rating label gives us the exact model and serial number to match.
Key features
- Indoor professional warming drawer, 30 inches wide
- Same guide as the WDTI
- Discontinued older model
My drawer is hotter at the back than the front. Why?
Uneven heat can come from the element, the thermostat or a drawer that is not closing fully. We test each and find which one is causing it.
The knob spins but nothing changes. What is wrong?
The knob stem may be stripped, so it no longer turns the control. We check the stem and the control and quote the right part.
What is the WDTI?
It is a related warming drawer that shares guidance with the WDT-30. We read each label to match parts correctly. We read each label to match parts correctly, so nothing is ordered by guesswork.
