The WDUI is a 30-inch electric warming drawer from the DCS WDU line, an older model that remains in many homes. It is closely related to the WDU-30 and is typically built in beneath a wall oven or beside a cooktop.
Because the WDUI is electric, our work focuses on four things: the heating element, the thermostat, the temperature control, and the mechanical parts that open and close the drawer. We test the element for continuity, make sure the thermostat switches properly, check that the control responds when turned, and inspect the glides, the front and the seal. A drawer that looks fine but does not warm is usually down to one of the first three.

What are the common reasons a warming drawer stops warming?
The element, thermostat or temperature control is the usual cause. We test each of them directly and replace only the part that has failed. We test them one by one.
Does the WDUI use gas?
No. It is an electric warming drawer and needs only a power supply, so there is no gas connection to worry about. That makes it simpler to service.
Is it worth repairing an older warming drawer?
