WOSV230

DCS WOSV230 Single Oven Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Door lock alerts around self-clean
  2. Cavity temperature sensor
  3. Thermal limiter after a hot cycle
  4. Oven that is dead while the display stays lit

The WOSV230 closed out the DCS single wall oven line. It is 30 inches wide, offers eleven oven functions, and cleans itself pyrolytically at 824°F in a cycle of four or five hours. Its load is 4.6 kW on 240 V or 3.5 kW on 208 V, and it weighs 190 lb. Alerts and multi-part error codes show on the clock display.

Self-clean is the most demanding thing this oven does, and many calls begin around it. A door lock alert means the latch did not engage or release, so we test the lock motor and switch. A cavity sensor error means a probe reading is off, and a thermal limiter that tripped can leave the display lit while the oven stays cold. We read the alert first, then test in that order.

This is an older oven, so it pays to know what parts exist before a repair is approved. We find that out, give you the price, and read the full model and serial from the label before ordering. The 240 V circuit is an electrician’s work if it needs attention.

WOSV230WOSV230 questions
My display is lit but the oven will not heat. Why?

A thermal limiter that tripped after a hot cycle can cut heat while the control stays powered. We test the limiter and the element before replacing a board.

What happens with a door lock alert around self-clean?

The latch may not have engaged or released. We test the lock motor and its switch. Never force the door while the cycle is running.

How hot does the cleaning cycle get?

This oven cleans at 824°F, for four or five hours. That heat is why locks, sensors and limiters are the parts we test when an alert follows a cleaning cycle.
