What F + number (single code) means
On the older DCS 30-inch wall ovens with knob controls, the WOSU30, WOSV30, WODU30 and WODV30, an F followed by a number in the clock display is a technical alert. The oven beeps every second to get your attention. The owner's manual has no table that explains each number, so the cause is found by testing. The cooling fans may run, and they are needed to bring the oven's temperature down, so do not turn off the main power right away.
Common causes of F + number (single code)
- A control or electronic board problem that the number points to
- A one-time glitch that the oven can correct itself
- Heat that needs to drop before the oven can be tested
1. Write down the F code exactly as it appears. 2. Turn the temperature knob and the oven mode knob to OFF. 3. Press PUSH TO CLEAR. The oven may have corrected itself. 4. If the code stays, wait for the fans to stop and press PUSH TO CLEAR again. 5. If it still will not clear, cut power at the breaker once the fans are still and the oven is cool.
- Without a list that explains each number, we read the code, check the oven's connections and test the boards it points to.
- This WOS line is older. We repair it, but some parts are scarce, so we check availability before starting.
- The price goes on paper first, and we are straightforward when a repair would cost more than it is worth.
Other Wall Oven codes
What does an F and a number mean on my DCS wall oven?
The oven is flagging a technical alert. It beeps every second and shows the F code in the clock display. Write the code down, because it helps us find the cause.
Can I turn the power off right away?
No. Do not turn off the main power while the fans run, because they cool the oven. Hold off on cutting power at the breaker until the fans have stopped and the oven has cooled.
Will PUSH TO CLEAR fix it?
Sometimes the oven has corrected itself, and the code clears. If it does not clear after a second try, ask us to come take a look.
Still seeing F + number (single code)?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
