RDT-366GD

DCS RDT-366GD Traditional Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Griddle burner flame and temperature control
  2. Gas burner ignition and flame shape
  3. Electric oven bake and broil operation
  4. Oven temperature against the dial
  5. Door gasket and hinge condition

The RDT-366GD is a 36-inch dual fuel range from the DCS Traditional (RDT) line, built with a griddle section beside the gas burners and an electric oven below. Many Houston kitchens still have this older model in daily use, and we repair it.

On a griddle range the first things we look at are how the griddle burner lights, whether the flame is even along the plate, and whether the heat holds at the temperature you set. We then check the surface burners for ignition and flame shape, and the electric oven for bake and broil heat and for how closely the oven matches its dial.

Because it is dual fuel, the range needs both a gas connection and a 240-volt supply. We work on the appliance itself; if the gas line, shutoff or wall connection needs work, that goes to a licensed plumber. Some parts for this older line are scarce, so we confirm availability and put the price in writing before any repair begins. If the repair is not worth it, we say that too. The exact model and serial number are taken off the label before any order goes in.

RDT-366GDRDT-366GD questions
What does dual fuel mean on the RDT-366GD?

The cooktop and griddle burn gas while the oven heats electrically. That means the range needs a gas connection and a 240-volt supply, and we check both sides of the appliance when something stops working.

Why does the griddle heat unevenly?

On this type of range we look at the griddle burner flame, the thermostat control and the plate itself. A weak or lopsided flame is the usual place to start, and we test it before quoting any part.

Can you still get parts for this older range?

Some parts for the Traditional line are harder to find now. We confirm availability before the repair, give you a written price, and tell you honestly if the cost no longer makes sense.
