Most common issues on this model
- Griddle burner and temperature control
- Gas oven igniter
- Four burner flames
- Oven temperature against the dial
- Grease around the griddle
The RGT-364GD is a 36-inch gas range from the DCS Traditional (RGT) line, with four burners and a griddle. Both the cooktop and the oven burn gas, so unlike its dual fuel cousins it does not need a 240-volt supply for the oven.
With an all-gas oven, our oven checks focus on the igniter, the oven burner and the thermostat, rather than electric elements. We also test the griddle for lighting, flame evenness and how it holds a set temperature, and then the four cooktop burners. As this range is older, we look at wear on knobs and caps too.
Some parts for the Traditional line are scarce, so we confirm what we can get before we begin, and we quote in writing. If the gas line or shutoff needs changes, a licensed plumber handles that. We say so plainly if a repair makes less sense than a new range. Before ordering, we read the model and serial number from the label.

Does the all-gas RGT-364GD need electrical power?
It needs a normal outlet for ignition and controls, but the oven itself heats with gas, not an electric element. A power problem can therefore look like a gas problem, so we check the outlet too.
What do you check if the oven will not heat?
We test the oven igniter, the gas valve operation and the thermostat. A weak igniter is a common cause on a gas oven. We also look at the oven burner flame once the oven does light.
My griddle flame is uneven. Can you fix it?
Often yes. We clean and test the griddle burner, and replace parts only if they are worn. We also check the plate and grease around the burner while we are there.
