RGV2-364GD
DCS RGV2-364GD Convection Gas Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Griddle heat evenness
- Grease drip cup emptying and fit
- Infrared broiler glow time
- Convection fan and oven heating
- Gas type on the nameplate
The RGV2-364GD is a 36-inch gas range from the last generation of DCS ranges. It has four burners and a 17,000 BTU griddle with grease management and a removable drip cup, over a 5.3 cubic foot convection oven with an infrared broiler. Its dual fuel twin is the RDV2-364GD.
The griddle is where we look first when cooking is uneven: we check the flame along the plate, how the heat spreads and whether the drip cup is seated and not overflowing, because grease that escapes the cup reaches the burner area. The infrared broiler should glow quickly, so a slow one points to its igniter or burner. In the convection oven we test the fan and compare real temperature with the setting.
The nameplate adds -N for natural gas or -L for LP, and the right one matters for parts. The rating label gives us the full number before anything is ordered. A licensed plumber should be called for gas line work beyond the range. You see a written price before repair and get 30 days of workmanship coverage.

What does the drip cup on the griddle do?
It collects grease from the griddle so it does not reach the burner area. Empty it regularly, and if it overflows or sits loose, tell us and we will inspect the area.
My broiler is slow to glow. What do you check?
We test the broiler igniter and burner, along with the gas flow to it. A slow glow often means a weak igniter, which we measure before replacing.
What do -N and -L mean on the nameplate?
The -N marks natural gas and the -L marks LP. Parts and settings differ between them, so we confirm the nameplate before ordering anything. Using the wrong gas type can cause serious problems.
