How to Read the Model Label on Your DCS Outdoor Refrigerator

Having the model label ready makes any repair call faster. Here is where to find it on an older DCS outdoor refrigerator and what to do if it has faded.

The model label tells us what you own, which parts could apply and, on an older unit, how old it is. Finding it takes two minutes and often saves a second trip. Do not guess at numbers from memory.

Where the Label Usually Is

  • Inside the cabinet, on a side wall or near the top.
  • Behind the toe grille or at the bottom front edge.
  • On the back panel, if the unit can be pulled out safely.
  • Inside the door frame on some undercounter styles.

What to Write Down

  1. The model number exactly as printed, with every letter and digit.
  2. The serial number.
  3. Any date shown on the label.
  4. A photo of the whole label with your phone, in good light.

If the Label Is Faded or Missing

Outdoor units spend years in sun and humidity, and labels fade or peel. Try a flashlight at an angle, which shows raised print. If it is still unreadable, take photos of the unit, the door, the controls and the shelves. We can often work out the style from those, and we say so when we are not sure rather than guess.

Why Age Matters

A 10- to 20-year-old unit may need parts that are no longer easy to find. Knowing the exact model early lets us tell you if a repair makes sense or whether replacement is the wiser choice. We give that advice honestly and put the price in writing before work.

Keep a photo of the label in your phone under the appliance name. It also helps with insurance questions after a storm.

If the unit sits in a built-in outdoor kitchen, check whether the label is visible without removing panels. If it is not, tell us at booking, and we plan the visit around that.

Have the photo ready, then call us or fill in our online form to schedule service for your outdoor refrigeration repair. We confirm a three-hour arrival window once we have the model.

Tell us the model and the code. We will bring the part.
