If you want indoor grilling on a large cooktop, the RGT-486GL is a 48-inch all-gas range with six burners and a grill, from the DCS Traditional (RGT) line. It is an older model, and it should have a strong ventilation hood above.
The grill burner and radiants are our first stop, because clogged ports and caked-on grease are the usual causes of weak or uneven heat. After that we test each of the six cooktop burners, and then the gas oven: igniter, burner flame and the match between actual temperature and the dial.
If you smell gas at any time, turn off the burners, ventilate the room, and call your gas provider before using the range again. Does the grill need a hood?
A grill makes smoke and heat, so a strong ventilation hood is important. If you notice smoke indoors, let us know when you book. A hood that is not working well can also affect how the grill performs.
Do you repair the oven on an all-gas range?
Yes. We test the igniter, the burner flame and the thermostat, since there is no electric element on the oven. Because it burns gas, the oven depends on its igniter and thermostat.
