RGTC-305

DCS RGTC-305 Self-Cleaning Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Self-clean lock engagement
  2. Oven burner lighting speed
  3. Cooktop burner clicking
  4. Oven igniter
  5. Door lock motor and switch

The RGTC-305 is a 30-inch self-cleaning gas range with five burners, an older DCS model that is also sold in a stainless version, RGTC305SS. The C in the name tells you the oven cleans itself, and it is the self-clean parts that set this range apart from the plain RGT-305.

We start with whichever of three things you are noticing. If the lock will not engage for a clean cycle, we check the lock motor, the switch and the controls that start and end the cycle. If the oven burner lights slowly, we test the igniter and the gas flow. If the cooktop burners keep clicking, we look for moisture, dirt or a misaligned cap near the igniter.

This legacy model may need parts that are hard to find, so we confirm them before the repair and give a written price, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on the work. A licensed plumber handles any gas line or shutoff work beyond the appliance. Before parts are ordered, the label confirms the model and serial number.

RGTC-305RGTC-305 questions
What does the C in RGTC-305 change?

The RGTC adds a self-cleaning oven. Both are 30-inch gas ranges with five burners, so we read the label to match the right parts. The self-clean parts are the main difference we check.

My burners keep clicking after they light. Why?

Moisture, dirt or a loose cap near the igniter can keep it sparking. We clean and test it, and replace the igniter or switch only if needed.

Is it safe to use self-clean on an older gas range?

It depends on the lock and the oven's condition. We check the lock mechanism and door seal first and tell you if the cycle should be avoided.
