RGU-366

DCS RGU-366 Six-Burner Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Burner ignition with a pop
  2. Convection fan operation
  3. Oven door gasket wear
  4. Halo lights on the knobs
  5. Flame shape on each burner

The RGU-366 is a legacy 36-inch all-gas range with six burners across the cooktop and a convection oven below. Colored halos around the knobs, in red and orange, show when a burner or the oven is on, so the controls give you a clear visual cue while you cook.

Because there is no griddle or grill, every position is a burner, and a delayed ignition shows up quickly: a burner that lights with a pop usually has a dirty port or a cap that is not seated. We check each one, then move to the oven. The convection fan should start and move air quietly, and the door gasket should seal evenly all the way around; a worn gasket lets heat escape and changes how the oven cooks.

Because it is an older range, some parts are harder to find, so we confirm availability before the repair and quote you in writing. We will also tell you if the cost is not worth it. For any changes to the gas supply or the shutoff behind the range, call a licensed plumber. The rating label tells us the exact model and serial number.

RGU-366RGU-366 questions
A burner lights with a small pop. Is that dangerous?

A delayed light can mean gas is building up before it catches. It is often a dirty port or misplaced cap, and we clean and test it so it lights cleanly.

What do the red and orange knob halos mean?

They show which burner or oven control is active. If the halos behave oddly, we test the control and the parts behind it before suggesting a repair.

Does a worn oven door gasket matter?

Yes. A gasket that no longer seals lets heat escape, so the oven takes longer and cooks unevenly. We inspect it and tell you whether it needs replacing.
