Six burners and a grill sit on top of the RGV-486GL, a legacy 48-inch gas range, while a main oven and a smaller secondary oven fill the lower half. It is one of the larger layouts in the older DCS RGV line.
On this range, a grill flame that has grown weak is the first thing we look at, since grease in the ports is the usual reason. Then we test the main oven igniter, which can wear with age, and the secondary oven, where we also look at the door hinge, since a loose hinge keeps the door from closing tightly. The six cooktop burners are tested for lighting speed and flame shape.

What does a weak grill flame mean?
