What A3 means

On DCS WOSV230 and WODV230 wall ovens, A3 is also a door lock error, but at the other end of the cycle. The Self Clean cycle has finished, and the oven cannot unlock the door. The display shows A3 and you cannot open the oven to use it. After a cleaning cycle the cavity is still very hot, so give it time to cool before you do anything else.

Common causes of A3

  • A door lock that did not release when the cycle ended
  • A latch that is binding against the door
  • A lock motor or switch that needs testing if A3 repeats

1. Let the oven cool and the fans stop completely. 2. Press gently on the oven door to help the lock disengage. 3. If that does not release it, switch the oven's power off at the breaker and back on, only once the fans have stopped and the oven is cool. 4. Try the door again. 5. If A3 returns, call us with the code.

  • A lock that stays engaged needs a hands-on test of the latch and motor, which is more than a reset can show.
